About us
Illuminate new possibilities
SOLAMENT™ is an advanced material
technology that absorbs near-infrared light
of sunlight, and transforms it into new value.
For instance, it creates warmth that doesn’t exist yet.
Conversely, it protects people from
the sun’s heat.
Additionally, it protects them from near-infrared light being used to invade their privacy.
This new material will break through
the limitations and restrictions of the past,
opening up a world beyond our imagination.
The story behind our name and logo
SOLAMENT™ is a combination of "solar" and "element." It also carries the meaning of "sora" ("sky" in Japanese). The logo draws inspiration from the sunlight and the hexagonal crystalline structure of SOLAMENT™, with the overlapping "X" symbolizing collaboration—all together expressing the broad spectrum of possibilities.
A made-in-Japan material born from serendipity
SOLAMENT™ was born from an unexpected discovery during research into electromagnetic waves emitted by televisions—a compound found to absorb near-infrared light.
Building on this discovery, extensive experimentation led to the development of a one-of-a-kind, highly transparent near-infrared absorbing material in 2004.
